Noone has any problem with spending money on saving lives, but the percentage spent on firefighting in the Bracks budget is growing .It doesn't seem to worry Mr Thwaites that these enlarging conservation priorities are reactive in nature .
Taking one day at a time is not the licence any government has, but the licence they take . It builds empires of firefighters at the expense of empowered and entrusted individuals - the very antithesis of good governance .
